Welcome!
Roleplaying games are really interesting.
From that sentence, all else flows. Roleplaying games are interesting, and interesting things are worth talking about. One way to talk about things is via this probably over-hyped new technology known as the weblog. I look at blogs like Crooked Timber and the Volokh Conspiracy -- groups of smart people with something in common writing about topics they care about -- and I see active discussion taking place in the format. And I say to myself, "Hey. We could do that with roleplaying games."
Being of an occasionally ambitious nature, I asked a bunch of people I know (and some people I only sort of know) if they'd be interested in getting involved. A lot of them said yes.
We defined the sorts of things we wanted to talk about by example. Some readers will remember Hogshead's Interactive Fantasy; if you don't, check out RPG.net's Oracle, which has reprinted a number of the old Interactive Fantasy articles. That's the tone and thoughtfulness and subject matter we find interesting. Another great example is Bruce Baugh's Rock Scissors Blog, which does something very similar to what we're doing here.
So:
The purpose of this blog is to talk, thoughtfully, about roleplaying games. We are freelancers, fans, GMs, and players. Without further hype and blather, we are proud to present The 20' By 20' Room.

Role playing games have evolved. A lot of them were popularized by the kids to adult-who-think-like-kids..it is a game in which each participant assumes the role of a character (such as an ogre or a futuristic spaceship captain) that can interact within the game's imaginary world..indeed, it is fun and evolving...

You are very right while saying that this web-blog technology is a nice way to communicate with people having different approaches.
