GenCon 2004: Sunday and Wrapup

Posted by Bryant on August 23, 2004 at 12:59 AM

Nothing earthshaking happened Sunday. The dealer's room was still crowded, Steak and Shake still makes a lousy breakfast, and so on. Thus I will skip straight to the brief wrapup, as follows:

GenCon was fun! Indianapolis has gotten used to us! Games are good!

My initial "best of show" goes to Paranoia XP with Dogs in the Vineyard a close second. Cthulhu 500 gets "card game that should be hot and new." Prettiest game is Red Star by a hair over Authority, although I must question the decision to add role-specific core classes to a D20 Modern product.

Ogre Cave and Gaming Report have more detailed news and reports, so go there for that. More here later, maybe. Maybe some pictures. But for now we'll get back to that talking thoughtfully thing...

Is this Red Star game related to the comic? It might be interesting to play in that universe.

It is in fact a licensed game set in that universe.
