Lexicon sighting

Posted by Bryant on August 30, 2004 at 10:36 AM

Morbus Iff is starting a Gamegrene Lexicon. It's not tied to a specific system, and in fact the nature of the world isn't even defined, so this is about as loose as a Lexicon setup gets -- it'll be interesting to watch it develop.

Meanwhile, I'm considering a Vampire: the Requiem Lexicon covering Las Vegas. Interested parties should comment or drop me a line.

Andy the Vampire:

Andy the Vampire is the only known vampire in the World of Darkness who actually maintains the Masquerade. He works the night shift as a
non-descript floor employee of a meat packing plant. He feeds off of blood from his job and the occassional stray bum on special occassions. He is aware of, but studiously avoids contact with any and all other vampires in the area. When confronted by other Kindred, he stridently denies being a vampire or having any knowledge of vampiric society.

He has never sired a childe and it's not known who his sire was. Even his clan is uncertain since he has never used any of his vampiric abilities. Most assume from his near delusional convictions that he's Malkavian, but he's otherwise completely functional in normal society.

He remains a barely-remembered and pathetic figure of the Las Vegas vampire scene and that's just the way he wants it. He also has absolutely no part to play in the upcoming campaign. Players who try to seek him out and prod him for plot will be sorely disappointed.

Very nice, Tom. I have to remember Andy the Vampire at some point.

A question on my mind is, does anyone actually KNOW he's a vampire?

I'm thinking some Malkavian picked out a random joe who had easy access to blood, and began circulating the story to his buddies.

Hey Fred,

Yeah, people know he's a Vampire, even if they have to be reminded of the fact.

The idea comes from the time a friend and I were talking about Vamipire characters for a LARP and we thought it'd be cool to have a guy who just wanted to be hidden from the masses, drink a little blood and never be bothered.

For "cool" read: a complete train-wreck of a character since he'd never show up to any of the events and he'd make the GM's life hell because he'd always flee at the first sign of plot.

heh

I'm in for the Lexicon. Got too many ideas from "Live at the Sands" that never saw the light of day.

I'm interested in the V:TR lex. I still haven't gotten the damn book yet (Diamond Distributors screwed up), but I expect to get it this Friday.
