Cyber-demon-goth-ninja-lasersharks, with katanas
That's basically the newest game I'm running. After Dogs in the Vineyard, the players asked for a game that was morally straightforward, and we came up with the idea of the World of K3wlness, which is a game inspired by movies like Underworld and The Crow -- it's superheroes in black trenchcoats and leather running around killing bad people.
The system is mostly Feng Shui, with a couple of tweaks. The one most worth mentioning is that I've ripped off Clinton Nixon's idea of Keys from his The Shadow of Yesterday rpg, and am using a variant of it as the experience/luck system. Triggering a Key nets a player a Fortune Die, and for each Fortune Die a player spends, they get an experience point. The first session is tonight, and I will report on how it goes....

The odd thing is that the game is mostly being played straight so far. I guess the fact that it's a joke makes it easier to take it seriously -- so when I say, "Ninjas attack!" the joke has already been made so everyone can go, "Ninjas! Awesome!"

I mean, come on, you've got Brandon Lee, Wesley Snipes and Kate Beckinsale (and Kate Beckinsale again, if you count Van Helsing!) as your role models!

Neel... you're comment about how the game is played straight in spite of and even because of the silliness of the whole thing....
It reminds me of the people who just don't understand why someone would want to play HackMaster....
