Analyzing Process

Posted by Jere on May 21, 2006 at 09:53 PM

Rob has been toying with my throughts about process design of a game. He's got some fascinating stuff that I recommend folks take a look at.

  1. Analysis and Considering Goals
  2. Items of Play
  3. Forming a Goal
  4. Goal vs. Games

Good stuff here exploring the stuff that I'm talking about and adapting it to a style that works for Rob. The crucial thing in my mind is that Rob's thinking about what he wants in a clear way that I think is really ading a lot to his developing a new game.

Which is my whole goal. Clear communication of game deisgn that elads to fun. Lots of ways to get it, I just happen to like mine.

Thank you for the links, Jere! I just hope I can get said new game running soon. My next step is to have a sit-down with most of the fellow hobbyists I know, go over what I reckon I want and see what everyone thinks, who'd be after something different and how people reckon we'd go about getting what we want.
