Freeformers
I want to call out this comment so it doesn't get buried. It is one of those most self-conscious explanations of what free-formers are doing that I've read in a while.
An excerpt I keep coming back to:
Each group makes their own. For the most part, however, they all look the same - and are weirdly Not Rules. It's strange: the most vital rules of play (consensus, 'stop-at-the-skin,' God-Moding, etc.) tend to get ellided (presumably due to the assumption that everyone knows them already), while the stated "rules" usually deal with points of etiquette and the sort of issues that I believe Forge theorists refer to as 'Ephemera' (is that right?): procedural stuff like "all posts must be written in the third person past tense," and "all scenes once begun must be completed in two days time so that the timeline doesn't get bogged down" and "remember to post your role-play in the proper place" and "NO NETSPEAK!"
Sarah Kahn, please take this as encouragement to write more.

Thanks, Jere!
I shall try to organize my thoughts sufficiently to do so.

Looking forward to it, Sarah. :)

I am also writing with praise. :) Also, if you want your post promoted to a full front-page article, (both for this last one and the next article) let me (or probably Jere too) know!

Just thought I'd mention that Thomas Robertson is in the process of
interviewing Sarah on his blog.
His blog software does something horrible with the very long comments, but it is completely readable if you click on the "reply to this comment" link on any of the comments.
He has asked that no one besides Sarah comment in the interview thread, so this thread might make a good place for comments on the interview if anyone has them.
