Kid Stuff Redux

Posted by Jim Henley on November 24, 2006 at 02:10 PM

My playtest review of The Princes' Kingdom is up on RPG.Net as of this morning. I give it a 4/4 in RPG.Net's somewhat sketchy ranking system. No one will be able to deny the review's . . . length.

UPDATE: Some fellow named Sergio hates the version of my review written by the demons in his head.

I wonder if the demons in his head get paid by the word, or the page hit?

(Nice review, Jim. I may even get this game for my son -- in a few years, of course -- because of it.)

Thanks, Brett. Funny, I used to shave Sergio's face every morning, if you get my drift. It's little strange to be so alienated from that viewpoint now. But man, very carefully NOT using the word "sexist" doesn't stop it from appearing IN HIS BRAIN!!!!!

Sergio went onto my "why bother" list sometime ago.

None the less I responded to him because I hate myself.

I didn't answer Sergio because, as you no doubt remember, we already went over this on RPG.net. Once is enough! That said, yours was a great review. Yes, it was long but it wasn't wordy; it was clear and informative. Thank you very much, Jim!

Thanks, Brand and Mechante. I did reply, and now I'm going to Hell. But I agree, MA, that there's no point in having the same thread we already had all over again. Actually it's a shame that max 300 words out of - gulp! - 7,000 or so, probably end up dominating such thread as exists.

It's funny; I played TPK with my niece and nephew over the holidays and posted an AP report on The Forge (http://www.indie-rpgs.com/forum/index.php?topic=22873.0). The only time gender came up was when I explained that they were playing princes in a kingdom. My niece said "can I play a princess?" and I responded that she could consider secretly herself a princess, but to everyone else she was a prince. She was satisfied and the subject never came up again.
